NEWS
To celebrate the end of 2008 and the coming of a new year (all fresh and undone) El Perro del Mar is giving away her own version of the traditional anthem Auld Lang Syne. Pitchfork among others hands it away here.

El Perro del Mar is currently working on a mini-album all under the theme of love to be released in February 2009. More news to follow soon.
Lengthier news and trivia on all things related can be found in the journal.

'From the Valley to the Stars' is El Perro del Mar's second full-length album. It's out now in Scandinavia and in the U.S. as well as in the U.K, Australia and New Zealand. Visit my space to listen to a selection of songs from the album. For ways to order the album look below.

ABOUT EL PERRO DEL MAR
El Perro del Mar was founded in the end of 2003 around the idea and need
of making music on terms of one's own. Behind the alter-ego is the sole member Sarah Assbring.
El Perro del Mar started out as an mp3-artist and in spring 2004 the first cdr-ep 'Baby, I've been in a bad place' was released by the Swedish label Hybris. The two following cdr-ep:s, 'I've got good news' and 'Holiday Special', were released shortly thereafter.
In late 2004 the first official ep 'What's new? El Perro del Mar' was released and also around this time, she contributed with the song 'Shake it off' on a joint and limited split single initiated by friend Jens Lekman. She joined him shortly thereafter as opening act on his tour in Sweden.
In May 2005 the previous unofficial/official releases were gathered to form the compilation album 'Look! It's El Perro del Mar!'. Later that year the ep 'God Knows (You Gotta Give to Get) was released.
In spring 2006 a slightly updated version of the debut album was released in the U.K. and in Europe via Memphis Industries/COOP. By the end of 2006 the self-titled album was released in the U.S. as well as in Australia and New Zealand. The album received rave reviews.
El Perro del Mar also had the opportunity to make a tour in Brazil. In spring 2007 El Perro del Mar toured the U.S.

In 2007 El Perro del Mar found a new Scandinavian home on Licking Fingers, the Concretes own label.
During the spring and summer of 2007 the much longed-for work on the second album 'From the Valley to the Stars' began. The recordings as well as the producing were done by El Perro del Mar herself in her studio in Gothenburg. The album was released in Scandinavia in February. It was preceded by the release of the single 'How Did We Forget?'.
In the U.S. 'From the Valley to the Stars' was released on April 22nd. In May the release was followed by a North American tour together with Swedish fellows Lykke Li and Anna Ternheim.

Winter 2008: Working on new exciting things to come. Release to be expected in February 2009.
